Employees are the key asset in any organization. Regardless of how technologically advanced the world becomes, no organization can succeed without a team inspiring. Experienced employees tend to have higher productivity and efficiency levels, and with that comes a stronger bond of trust. However, changing cultural dynamics within the organization can affect the retention of these valuable employees.

 HR leaders help employees manage organizational changes while creating a supportive environment. Experienced employees are vital to the company because they bring valuable knowledge and skills. When these employees leave, it can cause gaps that disrupt workflows and reduce the team's effectiveness.

 Replacing experienced staff poses immediate challenges and long-term issues for innovation and growth. Hiring new talent takes time and money, including costs for advertising, interviewing, and onboarding. Additionally, getting new hires to fit into the company culture and training them can take several months (Indeed, 2025.).

 New employees often need time to understand their roles and the company’s processes. This adjustment can lead to a temporary drop in productivity and affect team morale. If organizations do not support their current employees—by providing training, clear communication, and encouragement—they risk creating uncertainty and disengagement. This can lead to higher turnover, as unhappy employees may look for more stable environments, making hiring and retention even harder (Indeed, 2025.).

By valuing and investing in these employees, the organization can leverage their skills, experience, and networks, ultimately driving long-term growth and success.

For example, In the culinary field, some chefs gain worldwide recognition, such as Michelin-starred chefs and Olympic medalists. These individuals are highly sought after, and it is considered a great honour for a hotel to employ them. Food enthusiasts often seek out their renowned dishes. Therefore, the HR department of the hotel should be aware of the importance of retaining such exceptional talent. Otherwise, losing these chefs could significantly harm the hotel’s reputation. Keeping experienced and effective employees engaged and retained is a key responsibility of the HR team within the organization.

This needs periodical and constant feed backs from their employees and remedial measures need to be taken no sooner they were identified. However, this methodology will have inherent concentration risk of dependency on few employees too.
